At Kuranui College we believe very strongly in students pursuing excellence and achievement in all fields of endeavour.

• Kuranui College has enthusiastically implemented NCEA in all curriculum areas to level three. Kuranui students achieve at or above the national mean in most subject areas. Kuranui students consistently excel at regional and national level in the performing arts and sport.
  
• Our curriculum offers the widest possible selection for students at every level.
  
  
• Our Year 9 ‘Base 6’ and Senior Vocational Pathways programmes are innovative and based on the requirements of the world beyond secondary school.
  
  
• In the Junior College we focus on the essential learning skills and students taking responsibility for their own learning. Students are awarded credits in order to graduate into our Senior College.
  
  Through a system of representatives and councils, students have the opportunity to play an important role in key decisions taken by the College and gain leadership skills.

  Kuranui College actively pursues ways of enhancing its present programmes and performance. Our ongoing task is to maintain and develop the features which make Kuranui unique, distinctive and successful.
